About SMB
Our Purpose
Saratoga Music Boosters (SMB) is an all-volunteer, charitable organization that supports music education across the elementary, middle, and high school grades at Saratoga schools. Including color guard, choir, band, orchestra, jazz, and percussion - SMB supports our dedicated teachers in the delivery of excellent music education.
Here are just a few examples of how SMB benefactor donations enhanced our music programs in the past couple of years:
Saratoga Music Boosters (SMB) works with Saratoga Union School District (SUSD) and Saratoga High School (SHS) to provide music programs for students in grades 5 through 12. The goal of these programs is to encourage a love of music and to provide opportunities for students in all grade levels to develop their musical skills.
SMB is made up of volunteers that advocate and raise funds for SUSD and SHS Music Programs.
Meetings are regularly held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Saratoga High School Music Building in Room M103. All meetings are open. Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings to report current affairs and to be available for input.

There are additional ways to support Saratoga Music! Most of our events allow families to sponsor or underwrite the event. We also accept stock donations! Please contact us for more information.

- Instrument maintenance, accessories and purchase for both orchestra and band
- Method books and sheet music
- Instructors and professional clinicians / specialists to allow for specialized and small group strings and band teaching
- Pianist accompanist for choir
- Quality sound systems and music teaching technology for music facilities
- Color guard instructors and supplies such as flags and props
- Enhanced expert clinicians to support small group remote instruction
- Professional video production for virtual performances in band, orchestra and choir
- Guest speaker series by professional artists of various backgrounds (musicians, composers, educators, designers and choreographers)
- Purchase of new music with flexible instrumentation and/or small ensemble to enhance engagement and collaboration in Virtual Learning.
- Professional adjudicators to provide personalized feedback to enhance performance and musical skills.
